Common Time Calculation Examples
- 3:00 PM + 8 hours = 11:00 PM
- 9:00 AM + 90 minutes = 10:30 AM
- 11:30 PM + 2 hours = 1:30 AM the next day
- 2:15 PM - 45 minutes = 1:30 PM
Enter any starting time, then add or subtract hours and minutes to find the resulting clock time. You can enter extra minutes on their own — for example, 90 minutes works the same as 1 hour and 30 minutes.
When the answer crosses midnight, the result moves to the next or previous day automatically. The calculator supports 12-hour AM/PM times by default and includes a 24-hour option if you prefer.
Notes
- Subtracting past midnight returns a time on the previous day, shown as -1 day.
- Minutes above 59 are allowed as input: 0 hours and 90 minutes is treated as 1 hour 30 minutes.
Common questions
- What happens when the answer passes midnight?
- The clock time still shows correctly and the Day row tells you it moved forward or back by one or more days, so you never lose track of the calendar date.
- Can I enter times with AM and PM?
- Yes. The calculator uses a 12-hour AM/PM clock by default. Enter times in the selected 12-hour or 24-hour format, and switch formats at any time.
